A thousand years ago, wine was consumed young because oxidation quickly ruined it. The passion for wine changed when people began storing the vintage in wooden barrels.
The mastery of wood imparted aromas, structure, and longevity. To speak of this passion today is to evoke the “miracle” of aging: the art of patiently waiting for time and oak to transform the liquid into a more complex work of art.
The CASA ANZA winery is located 15 minutes from downtown San Miguel de Allende. Its first vintage was in 2018, and thanks to a production process carried out entirely by hand, it has managed to become one of the gems of the Bajío region in just eight years.
